Site plan & zoning discussed at ARAC meeting Thursday

The Carp Road landfill expansion site plan and zoning were discussed at the City of Ottawa’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee yesterday. Site Plan approval and removal of a hold on zoning recieved written community comments on forest compensation, wildlife protection, community recreational facilities as well as community presentations on biosolids disposal and community compensation.

ARAC Committee members discussed a number of issues about the landfill expansion including traffic, Carp Road modifications, the Host Municipality Agreement, and the role of the Public Liaison Committee. The committee noted that work on the landfill can’t begin until the 38 conditions on the Site Plan are met.
